How it works
Step 1: Consultation & Skin Analysis
Your professional journey begins with a detailed skin analysis and consultation to confirm that you’re a suitable candidate for the Cosmelan® professional treatment.
Step 2: Skin Preparation (4–6 Weeks)
Your skincare professional will guide you through a 4–6 week skin preparation phase using specific active skincare such as retinoids or exfoliating acids. This step is necessary if you are not currently using any of the above skin care products as it helps regulate cell turnover, strengthen the skin barrier, and optimise treatment results.
Step 3: In-Clinic Phase
The in-clinic treatment begins with gentle skin prep followed by the application of the Cosmelan 1 mask, a potent depigmenting formula that acts directly on the source of excess melanin. The mask remains on the skin for several hours, after which you’ll remove it at home as instructed.
Step 4: At-Home Phase
To maintain and enhance your results, you’ll continue with the Cosmelan 2 Homecare Kit, included as part of your initial treatment.
The homecare kit is valued at R9,680 and will need to be topped up and used consistently for approximately six months following your first month of treatment to ensure long-lasting, visible results and prevent pigmentation from returning.
